Timing is everything . I came home tonight after a terrific storm. On the interstate ,light rain, I pass two 18 wheelers and they pull into my lane behind me .At that point there is an entrance ramp. I'm past the ramp when I glance into the rear view mirror.I see part of the side of the truck. How can that be when I'm directly in front of him ? Then I see him wobble and roll and I think he's going to put it over ! But he didn't. Later I went on the online newspaper. As I passed the trucks a car came down the entrance ramp on to the interstate then drifted into the path of the truck .The truck struck and killed the car's driver !! Seconds count !

Wow! You're one lucky guy. It's not what I'd like to see in my rear view mirror, but better to see it there than out of the windshield!

Wow is right!! Lucky you, unlucky for somebody else. I would have drank a beer after that one.

Glad you are still with us Mete. My heart goes out to the family and friends of the other driver. You just never know what can happen in the blink of an eye, this post made me call a few good people I have not spoken to in a while. I think it is in the Hagakure that they talk about never letting death leave ones mind. Not to be morbid but to always remember we might not ever have another chance to fufil our duties to family and self. Thanks for reminding me to cherish every moment. It's funny how easily such a profound lesson can slip our mind.
