so I found this custom South African maker on Facebook and commissioned a Lanny's Clip inspired knife. The handle shape isn't exactly right, but I love the blade shape. He forged the Damascus himself, dug the Tambotie root our of the mountains in Swaziland himself, and has been very communicative throughout the process. My only direction was that I like Lanny's clips, 2 bolsters, and dark wood, he ran with it from there. It's shipping out today, and I'm super excited. Very reasonably priced as well.

Specs:
Damascus and Tambotie root
OAL = 180mm = 7" open
Blade = 80mm x 20mm x 3.2mm = 3.14" x 0.787" x 0.125"
Bolsters satin finished to 400#

Looks great. It reminds me of a Buck 110 and that is a good thing :). Is it going to be a user or a collection piece?

A user. I don't do collector pieces. If I don't use it, it has to go.

1/8th inch thick with a saber grind, should be pretty stout.

THAT was worth the wait,however long it took. Absolutely beautiful and certainly OOAK. Use it in good health.

Well, I'm still waiting as it makes its long journey across the Atlantic, but I'm super excited. Forgive my ignorance, but what is OOAK?

Sorry,
"One of a kind"
I hope it gets to you quickly;I know all too well the anguish of the wait!
If I had some$ loafing about, I'd be looking up Mr LaCombre myself.
