I have posted before about how much I love using my Tin Chirra by Tirtha, today I had to share one more piece of info. As I am home on vacation one of my projects was to drop 3 (6" to 8" across) standing dead Elm trees. Then delimb them and chunk them up in 4' sections then pile it all up. The blade worked perfectly and at the end of this large task all it took was a quick wash down to remove the sap and running the chakra down the blade to dress up the edge.......but thats not what I wanted to share :)
Yesterday at the firestation we did a workout that included a long crab-walk on hot concrete, this resulted in all of us getting large blisters on the palms of our hands (not smart). I was a bit worried when I started out that between the 90° temps and equal humidity combined with swinging a 34oz blade would rip the blisters open in short order. I took my time and made every chop count, making sure to use a relaxed grip letting the weight of the blade do the work. After an hour plus of hard word NONE of the blisters were opened at all (as the pic shows). To me this just confirmed the ingenious design of the traditional handle, even one with a full tang. I was able to get a big chore done and had my blade back to perfect condition just few minutes later, yup HI rocks!

That is Awesome to hear! Hearing that kind of review and feedback (especially under such hard use) makes me Really excited to see my first Khuk's in the mail.

it is truly awesome to see how effective and beautiful these things are(not your hands, even though they are nice, but that tin chirra)

Gehazi you owe me a new keyboard as I was drinking coffee while reading ur post! Lol

Impressive chopper. I don't see the tin chirra on the HI website. Am I missing something or is it only available as a special order? Can you supply specs on dimensions?

I am not sure if it is a special order or not. The specs are 18 overall full tang and 34oz I think it's a full 1/2" thick.

from my understanding arby when they make special orders they make a couple more blades of the same type and offer them on the deals of the day , like the trisuli ghaule and the foxy folly , sometimes you can get them as blems too ! so it pays to watch the forums if you are looking for something -- I had just been plotting how to buy a dui chirra with the full tool set like the hanuman, and as if by magic auntie posted one ! eventually you will find a real prize, the one you have been waiting for. (also do i count as a spammer for posting in every thread?)

Not at all! When I was new I posted a TON! I think it's a good sign because it shows your enthusiasm for HI! I hope you enjoy your stay.
