Okay, I have never heard of these knives, but found out there are very expensive.

I got this one on a major closeout from a dealer.

It is the Satin Black with 4.25 inch blade.

Can anyone tell me about this knife?

Thanks

while the company was in business, they where a bit expensive, however people thought they where
good knives.

I have heard good things, in particular, they are supposed to be very smooth openers due to a Chew-type bearing system.

I don't think that TiNives have gone out of business. In fact, I think that they're going to be at Blade.

Any whoz. . .

I've possessed several of their knives (3.25 Blackout & 4.25 Candy Apple Red ~ both manual's) and currently have a 3.25 Gold Series (auto).

Very sleek and well constructed knives. The 4.25 Candy Apple Red had a high polished blade and the 3.25 Blackout had a diamond black coat applied to the blade. The handle coating is very very durable. And they are razor sharp ! Overall. . .fit and finish is superb !

While the 4.25 is a rather "large" knife. . .its sleekness and slenderness made it feel as if it were "alot" smaller.

Talk about smooth opening (and closing) ! The auto is a rocket !

Lock-up is right on and haven't experienced any problems with lock-up nor blade play.

All of my TiNives had blades that were perfectly centered in the handle (when closed).

You'll definitely enjoy it !

Let us know what you think when you get it. :)

I also picked one up from a dealer who was closing them out. I got a black one with silver speckles, manual, and 4.25" blade of 154CM. I was even able to get the optional leather pocket sheath with clip for optional carry as I felt the wire clip on the knife was not strong enough to keep from loosing it if I decided to carry but don't as mainly got it for my knife collection. I got it to go with my Larry Chew Covert D/A, and in my opinion is just as smooth with the same Voodoo pivot mechanism.
Good quality workmanship but at retail prices was just too high for most people to want to spend, and just has not seem to catch on in popularity.
You should be pleased with it, and especially if you got it at a good price/
Just my .02 cents.

Larry

Their website is still up,
but they might as well be out of business for all of the customer communications they do. :grumpy:
Do a search here and you'll find out what I mean.
For one, they never returned my emails.

Maybe I was confused I thought I read somewhere that a company that made textured 3D titanium handled knives was going to stop because it cost too much. Might have been in a magazine about a year ago.

yeah, I wonder why the following forums still exist:

Tiknives
Schrade
Outdoor Edge
JSp bladerigger

Seems liek BF would save server money and since there almost unused I don't think anyone owuld miss them.

Judge, you will be very pleased with the Tinive. The quality is exceptional. I have an 3.5 auto gold series auto. Super smooth and nice snap. Great knife.

I don't mean to be judgemental or offensive, but shouldn't you have researched the knife before you bought it?

If it is your intention to use the knife long term, I am sure it will give you good service. I have a small dresser with mirror polished blade but haven't used it. It has nice action, tight lockup, great construction and it is very light. Albeit, they were marketed as an upscale folder and in that price range, they were not that popular from what I can see. That is the way the market turns.

Mine is a very pretty shiney black aluminum handled knife.

Use it in good health.

:)

Why in God's name would I reseach a knife before I buy it... ahhahaah especially at the price I got it.

I buy knives because I like them. :D

I don't mind buying a knife and then finding out about it, if the price is right. Heck I can alway use it as a fancy letter opener.

Well, I have to go check the mail.

God bless you all,

Judge Blackhawk
