I know that TiNives has gotten some bad publicity recently, however prior to that what did you feel about these knives? I know that the shape is different from the speedtech but they both appear similar in design techniques. Which is hands down the better knife? I know you can get eihter auto or manual from TiNives and so far only manual from Speedtech.

If you have handled both I would especially like to hear from you, but any input would be appreciated. Even product to cost would be a good comparison, only manual versions for this.

I like both knives and am leaning toward the TiNive for looks but the Speedtech for price and quality. The quality only because TiNives has taken some hits lately. From what I understand they both have good customer service.

All my info is hearsay I haven't spoken to anyone who has actually owned one.

I have handled both, but don't own either one. So I have no idea what my opinion is worth.

I haven't heard the bad publicity about TiNives so I might be missing something important. No telling.
Anyways, between the two I would pick the Speedtech. It just fit my hand better, and was easier to operate for me. The one piece handle design is great. I also liked the clip alot on Speedtech. The auto TiNives is nice, but too much knife for me. It just wanted to shoot out of my hand. Plus it has 102 working parts. I know its sealed and all, and is super-smooth in the manual version, but I like to keep it simple myself.
The clip-pouch for the TiNives is a nice design, but I believe a clip on the knife would help in retention.
Thats all I have.

I haven't heard any bad press about TiKnives either. Larry Chew is working on a collaboration with them, and speaks very highly of their line. I've never held one, but Larry's word carries some serious water with me.

I can personally recommend the SpeedTech product very highly. Hold one and you'll have to own one.

Blades, thanks for the input, I thought that most people would lean towards the speedtech. I was hoping for a lot more input but you've handeled both and own neither so your opinion is pretty impartial and that is what I am looking for.

I didn't realize that the TiNives had so many working parts, I wonder if they've been through the mill long enough to establish any type of reliability?

The bad press I am talking about is what I've read on the forums. I guess that QC has been bad, somebody received a bunch of rusty bladed knives and had to send them back and then others had mentioned some problems that were had with these knives. I can't remember in which forum I read this but it wasn't too long ago. I thought that Triple Aught quit selling them due to some problems but until I can find the old thread I'm talking out my A*%. I heard that they had Larry Chew come aboard to help iron out some problems.
