I know they have a forum, but wanted to ask outside of it: What is anyone’s experience with these knives? Good or bad. I was just looking through our catalogue recently and was eyeballing their knives, I have no experience with them so thought I would get the "experts" opinions, thanks.

I had one of their automatics years ago that came with a pocket sheath. The quality of the knife was on par with Microtech and CRK. I really liked the knife, but I am more into the look of Microtechs, so off she went for sale. Big D1

My first experience was a manual "large Tactical Hybrid." It had the Larry Chew “Needle Roller Thrust Bearing Pivot System." High polished blade and hardware. Wicked sharp too ! What a slick knife !
Only problem. . .had candy apple red, anodized hard-coated aircraft grade T6-6061 aluminum "red", scales.

It's gone. . .

Then I purchased a "Gold Series." It's a auto, 3 1/4" blade, damascus blade. . . It too has the Larry Chew “Needle Roller Thrust Bearing Pivot System." It's a rocket and wicked wicked sharp ! ! !

It's behind glass. . .and receives a periodic firing. . . :D

You can put them in the "sweeeeeet" catagory ! :D ;) :D

Excellent quality, top of the production end. And the Self's go out of their way to take care of their customers.

I have one of their manuals, a 3.25" Stars & Stripes Forever - smoothest opening production knife that I own. I believe that it also has Larry Chew's Needle Bearing System. It is a great knife - rock solid lockup, fast opening and razor sharp. Its' slim profile make it a very good "Dress Carry". If I found another one that I liked at a good price, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it.
