I gave my CRKT M16 SFG to one on my truck drivers a few years ago and today he asked me if I could “ fix the knife I gave him 5 years ago?”. I asked what was wrong with it and he hands me this:

So I scratched my head for a minute and told him I’d work on it but fixing it may be a different story.
I looked around and found some heavy single strand copper wire and ROUGH ground some shouldered pins. B9D4505C-0F25-4E29-9220-5C102EAF4460.jpeg

Peened them down and brushed them with a scotch brite belt.FB1F7BD1-B428-4859-81B3-D1E5DE99DC33.jpeg

Functional for the time being, and a 20 minute repair.

The knife as I gave it to him:

Wow, he's pretty hard on a knife. Nice job with the fix on the handle, but what in the world did he do to the blade? The serrations are completely gone.
