...Gentlemen...I'm actually gonna ask a sorta knifeish kine question of an almost serious nature...If you were to put on a set of fat ol' stag or wood or micarta scales on a 110 or a 112 that were quite a bit thicker than factory scales but you also wanted rivets to show...where the heck would you get the rivets? The rivets I have are fine for scales which closely match factory thickness but they are too short for thicker scale materials...Any thoughts or ideas??...

The pins/rivets at those two places were nowhere near what I wanted...I got my brass brads/escutcheon pins at a hobby store...the kind that sell sailing ship models big enough to sit in... .060" dia shanks with 1/8" head and 3/4" long...

Now I can't find the container and I forget which hobby store I got them from... :grumpy:

...I got a few last year from a hobby store down here too Trax. Same thing .125 heads and .062 shanks. They were nice because they were almost 3/4 inch long under the heads, hollow almost to the head and they could be cut to match the thickness of almost any scale you could want. They have since...gone outa business. The few hobby stores I've found since then think I'm nuts when I describe the rivets. I think the package had 50 and I used 24 of 'em so far and the package got thrown out during one of the better half's "cleaning frenzies" .... So here I sit...LOL...with only a "short rivet" in my hands...  :p

Yep, the small brass brads are perfect, as trax has already mentioned above. You can also get them in nickle silver or stainless I think. I rarely re-pin handles, but would like to do more with pins, easier to just ignore them though  :D

Find a True Value Hardware Store, ask for SKU 375144, 2 oz, 1" x 16 Solid Brass Escutcheon Pins. 16 ga is .065", just right for Buck scales/liners.

...And you've had no problems setting those solid pins from the inside of the liner then??...The ones I had found were very easily set due to the hollow shank...

I only work with the knife disassembled...slightly countersunk holes...pins lightly peened in place...slight interference fit in liner/scale...pin head on scale side; peen on inside of liner...

Others here can probably give better instructions/tips...I'm doin' it as I do it...
