Tinkering with an Ultratech

My how finicky the ultratech is if it isn't absolutely clean! I risked voiding the warranty (I guess?) by disassembling it. Thought I cleaned it thoroughly, nope, and it still wouldn't fire and retract. I obsessively cleaned it again, problem solved! Ejects and retracts very easily now. Fringe benefit: very easy on thumb. However, its beyond me exactly what I did?

It doesn't void the warranty to disassemble the knife and clean it.

Use a light oil and not a lot. I use hair clipper oil on mine and they are smooth as butter.
