Don't say much here for the moment but I still read everything.
Here's one of my latest for a tiny Lady who wanted all the ceremonial prettys added.
My banjo head is 11" across. The 'hawk head is 5" x 2" with a 14" haft.

It's about time Randy. Where the heck you been Bro. Another fantastic piece. Been missing the beautiful hawks built by the great craftsmen of this forum. Great to know you are ok.

Great looking little hawk!

I hope the lady enjoys your work!

Great piece!

Kind regards

Thanks to all. Been buzy 'tween realjob and some irritating old injuries popping up.
The head is #1020 mild steel with a #1080 cutting edge. Since the Doctor say's that I have to use a wimpy hammer for a while I took this one to the shop at realjob and used the Piranha press to weld it. AWESOME.Soon as I get an extra hundred grand I'm gonna have one. The guys in the metal shop loved it. We had a charcoal forge set up and sparks flying...Glad our insurance inspector didn't walk in. ...This one has pewter top and bottom of the haft with HOURS of filing on it. The beading and decorations are from a bunch of different pics of original drops and bags.
Working on a couple more now...show ya when they are closer.....Randy

I'm not much into the doo-dads but a 1080 bit sounds good to me. That will hold up to chopping through dirty bark.

My personal preferences aside, it's a beautifully done piece.
