Keep checking back for the official moderator's opinion, but yeah, it sounds a real Camillus 'Silver Sword' which was/is the company's premium line. Looking through my limited catalogs, I seem to find lots of three digit marked Silver Swords, all starting with 8, but not yours. These are quality knives, I mentioned and show photos of two of them that I own, in the Thread entitled 'Camillus Collectibles'

In the Silver Sword line there was a small lock-back knife that was a model #40 when first introduced in the early 1980's. The model number was later changed to #862.
