I just bought a special spring steel for a project I am working on. On thing I noticed was that the quote was for 3/16 thick steel.
It came in at -.01 and the material just cleans up at .156. This is common when buying hot rolled stock ..

that's good if you like your blades just under 3/16". it doesn't seem to be that bad with stainless and d-2 though.
