Im always fighting epoxy mess. Especially so with system three clear coat. It does not pore from the container easily and just runs down the side. So I looked around for a second container to move it to. I measure it out by weight so I needed a more acurate way to get it out of the bottles Then after my last mess on the counter my wife pulled these out and asked if thy would work. After looking at them I realised the threads where the same and thy fit perfect on the factory bottles. So if your fighting the mess do like me and go to Walmart and pick up some squeeze bottles and use the caps.

That's a good tip for the poorly packaged/ containered exposies. Nothing worse than struggling with something that should be simple. I used to hate doin the epoxy for that very reason. though now i just use gflex in the 16oz (each) bottles that are basically that same style. pour like a dream after warming up the epoxy and creates so little mess that i can use a 3x3 inch piece of cardboard scrap as my mixing surface that goes on top of my scale. No drips, no spills, and they reseal on the tip pretty well too. Though i do add a layer of shrink wrap between cap and bottle for extra air tightness still.

I use the gflex 16oz bottles as well. But I bought some 1oz plastic cups (like for catsup etc) at a restaurant supply they're pretty cheap. I just put them on the scale.

For those of you that do sheath work too, I've been using a dollar store ketchup bottle for my contact cement in leatherwork for years. Works very well.

I use the West pump cans. Sure you waste some epoxy but it is foolproof or at least fool resistant. I use the West syringes to get the glue down in a tang hole and Starbucks swizzle sicks to mix and to pop the bubbles that form in the tang slot.

I use fat syringes and a scale with 0.1gram resolution, I know how much to dispense for each type of knife and its always 50/50

I also weigh out my epoxy on a scale. I’m trying to not go through so much by mixing to much. I use an extra reloading scale I have.
