If you want to cover up a slight gap between bolsters and handle slabs, or just like the look of spacers there, the best way I have found to get them to stay put is 1)to cut them slightly oversize 2)put epoxy between however many layers you are using and some on the top edge of your slab 3) stack them up and get a strip of disposable cloth 2" wide by about 12" long 4) center the cloth over the top of the materials and slab, then twist the ends together at the bottom of the slab 5)clamp the twisted ends to the slab with whatever is handy and center the spacers over the slab through the cloth 6) after epoxy is dry, unclamp, peel the cloth off (carefull not to take the spacers off with it) and grind to match slab.

Geez, it takes longer to explain than to do

oh, yea. To disguise a gap from a slightly unsquare bolster, be sure to use a black piece on the top of the stack, and the epoxy that fills the space between the bolster and the black spacer is almost invisible.
