Tip of the day

Dr.Lathe, sorry for the late reply, I've been out of town. I did try to pull my index finger off a couple of years ago, but when I posted the tip "Speed Kills!", I was referring to Knifemaking in general. Like when your hands are moving faster than your mind. When I do that, the piece of steel or pearl ends up in the trash.

AT,
I know what you mean! Ive been a machinist for overy 20 years and have seen some bad ones!!! I, knock on wood, have never had stitches due to a shop injury. Once or twice maybe I should have had them but survived without!
When your in that Knifemaking mental "zone" it IS possible to move your hands faster that your mind. I experience this phenomenon quite often!!
Work Safe,
Neil
