When you need to set your platent up at an exact angle, lets say 90 degrees. Don't leave the lock screw loose and move the platent by hand till it's right and then tighten the lock screw. On my Wilton when I do it this way the platent always moves just a little and there I am readjusting it all over again. Here's how ya do it.
Get the platent near the angle by eye and tighten the lock screw.
Set your gauge, in this case a square, on the stock support and see which direction the platent needs to be moved. Now whoop out your handy fine adjusting tool, the ever handy dead blow hammer and smack the platent in the direction it needs to travel. Check the angle again. Keep doing this till it's right and blammo, you're set up and ready to go.
This works a thousand times better for me than the old way!
