I had a epiphany today and tried it out. I wasn't planning on stripping it, but I got a CS GI Tanto in the mail to experiment with. I was out in the shed yesterday and found my electric palm sander. A light bulb went off.

I went through the usual steps....150, 400, 600, 1000, 2000. (That's all I had). I was SUPER easy and FAST. I think I had a high polish in 15 minutes, tops.

The sander cost about $8 at a discount hardware store. Give it a try the next time you want to strip a Becker!

How does it look? Sometimes those palm sanders wash out the grind lines and leave little wavy spots.

Obviously, this isn't a Becker, but you asked...

(This also has one light coat of blue that is mostly polished off)

As for the wavy spots, thats when you don't keep it nice and flat and the corner of the sander goes wild. If you are scared, do the grind by hand but the flat part is cake. It'll at least cut your time in half. At the very least, just use it for the low grits. The result is way better with no long scratches.
