i baght this knife at a gun show brand new, the tip was sharp as hell, so im playing with the knife nad i notice that the blade tip is touching the metal inside the knife and keeps on dulling the tip so i got out a stone and made the tip sharp again and it keeps rolling the tip over, i love this knife but this must be a defect the tip is dull, is there any way i could get a replacement blade,u can see the marks were the blade hits, is there any way i could get a replacement blade i would hate to have the blade reground because i want it to be just like it came, well tell me if i could get this fixed or if i could send it back.

thanks
anthony

Hi Scarface. The tip of the blade should not hit the springholder. The only fix is to take a little off of the tip. It wasn't ground short enough when built. Changing out the blade would be difficult (expensive).

could you make it look exactly like factory, like how much would this cost if i sent it in, it was very thin and very sharp when i first got it, thanks

We do a pretty good job here. Probably wouldn't be a cost as it is a factory defect. Contact Mike in Warrantee & Repair.

so your saying the blade was longer than usual and your just going to make grind it to the proper length

Civilian tips are difficult to make. All are hand finished to length when sharpened. We would re-grind the tip to fit.

Talking to Eric Glesser at Blade, I was amazed at some of the hand tweaking that some of the top end knives needed. I always envisioned that the parts were mostly machine-produced, fit together pretty much exactly, then just needed a human quality control check and final sharpening before they went in the box. Eric seemed to have some pretty good ideas on how to design a knife so that the automated parts came together more precisely, with less fiddling. I was excited by this because it should shorten the time between prototype and production, which means significantly less anticipatory drool to mop out of my keyboard. :D
