In the past I have had some thing, i dare not say issues, because it hardly is an issue, with my xm. when i tightened the pivot and got my xm dead-center, the blade often was too tight to properly flip. at the right tension to flip, it was just slightly off center. Rubi made a post about centering the blade, (the trick with the sheet of paper). indeed it improved my centering and flipping, but today I cleaned my xm and messed a bit with the pivot. the result is now, that my blade is and remains(without loctite, i dislike this thing profoundly) dead center, while flipping as if the pivot was completely loose. I kid you not, the difference is noticeable. now it flips without any effort whatsoever, even by simply pushing down the flipper it flies open. If any of you have this kind of "thing", this is what I did.

took knife appart and cleaned it. applied some fluorinated grease (not too much) and rubbed it out over the two sides of the blade, and on the two handle slabs(so that there would be grease on both sides of the washers. then I added some grease on the detent ball. I reassembled the knife. at this point, the blade was off center. I followed the instructions from rubi's thread. I opened the knife to 90 degrees, tightened the pivot all the way, loosened the body screws slightly. However, I did not shove anything between the blade and the handle slab. I then tightened the screw back and loosened the pivot. and TADAAA! the knife was and is perfectly centered and flips like a dream. I have no clue what caused this, but it worked, so thought i'd share this with you! =D

Raphael, thanks for taking the time to post this, I too find myself messing around to get the perfect blade centering with adjusting the pivot to flip with ease...but when you find the sweet spot it's magic!

Do you have reference for this 90 degree paper trick thing? Or a link... mine is centre, but it's getting stripped down tomorrow, so if there is an issue at least I know how to try correct it.. could come in handy for other knives too. Otherwise I will just try your method without paper wedge

I've been using that paper trick since you originally posted that rubiconss. Thank you again! It works great and is very easy to do. Once you find the sweet spot they flip like lightning don't they?

I know it. Even my xm-24 flies like a bat out of hell and that is a BIG, heavy blade!
