To remove broken taps from ti use a weak acid.
Do not use hydrflouric acid.. Most all of the other acids will eat the tap out and not bother the ti..
ALWAYS USE SAFTEY GEAR !!!
I use pool acid . Cheap !!!

pool acid = muriatic acid...available at any hardware store....on sale its only $5 per gallon...but careful, darrel might say its weak..but its still acid....it also works great for etching damascus too....maybe not as aggresive as some stuff but ive used it many times over the last 18 years. thats a great tip darrel....thanks. but i just thought of something....what with my brain damage and all, what happens if i forget and leave it in there for two or three days?

The acid wont touch the ti.. it will be fine. I just did a roll tap (nasty bastages) in a ti part. I used nitric 50 - 50 . Thats the fast way..
The muratic is not real weak. It will take a day or so. The pcb etchant (ferric cloride) works also just slower . It take a few days with it.
The hurdafloric will eat the titanium up fast...
The others will not
