Tip rounding on wroksharp

My Worksharp Kife and Tool sharpener arrived today and I was pumped to put a new edge on some really old dull knives. I read the instructions and started to sharpen a old, no name dive knife which I have had forever. I got a razor sharp edge on it but the tip has rounded. I have heard others having this problem when starting out so what am I doing wrong? I want to fix this issue before I start on some of my nicer blades.

You have to follow the curve of your edge all the way to the tip. Stop at least half way on the belt when you reach the tip and don't stay long on the tip. I only do fixed blades over 4 inches on my WorkSharp. All my folders get done on my EdgePro Pro model. You might want to check the Maintenance forum also. There's a few big threads about the WorkSharp and include some illustrations on how to sharpen.

Follow the curve of the edge, lifting the handle to do so. As you approach the tip, be sure not to drag the point past the centerline of the belt.

It also helps to lighten up on the downward pressure (in general, but especially as you reach the tip), the more pressure on the belt there is, the more it wants to pop around the tip when you reach it. As soon as the tip hits the middle of the belt (as others stated), you want to lift it out of the slot.
