Tip up carry: fountain pen! The Pilot Namiki retractable fountain pen rocks!

http://www.namiki.com/ and go to the Pilot series. A retractable fountain pen is a great mechanical result and with "tip up" carry I have had zero leaks. I love these.

A good source is www.oscarbraunpens.com . They have good prices and give excellent service. I will qualify this by sying I have not personally dealt with this company (yet); but, I have seen many threads praising them on various pen boards. (pens are my other addiction). The vanishing point is a neat pen.

The "Vanishing Point" fountian pens are great! I have two of them (med and fine point) The fine point is the fineist point and sharpest writing nid I've ever seen. Well made and, as fracmeister said, no leaks.

I don't consider myself a FP enthusiast [I prefer rollers and ballpoints] but I had to get a Vanishing Point a couple years ago. Definitely a great pen that is well engineered!
