Has anyone ever tried to change the milli to tip up.It looks like the screws can only go into the g10 if this is so it shouldn't be to difficult.Should I use the original clip or a clip like is on a SS Endura or Delica.

I don't know why you would want to do this? The mili is faster to draw from the tip down position , and alot safer to.The screws are screwed into the liner not the g-10 (someone correct me if I am wrong).I am not sure it could be done even if it could be there is nothing to be gained.

It is just that I am used to tip up carry.I am haveing a hard time getting use to tip down. All the years of carrying the Endura I guess.

This is correct.

However, I'd like a tip-up Military myself.

Carlos, don´t you think that due to the somewhat heavy blade of the Military and the ease of opening (my Military is as quick as a switchblade. I just flick it with almost no force at all and it always deploys like a "greased lightning"), wouldn´t there be a risk that the knife may, due to gravity, open itself?

IIRC, Sergiusz Misztin (spelling?) has expressed similar thoughts.

If you want your knife tip-up then have it done that way. It doesn't make it a higher risk than tip-down carry. I too tend to like tip-up much better than tip-down. Most of my customs are like that and my Emersons. The G-10 itself is thick enough to hold the clip that you move in place without having to worry about it coming out.

Depaul, I have a Custom Strider which is also tip-up carry and if that huge thick blade doesn't open in my pocket due to the heft of it, then I'm sure the Military isn't. If the liner lock detent does what it's made for and the lock is working right, then it isn't going to open in your pocket. I've never had any tip-up knife in good working cond. ever open on me.

It's your knife and if I were you, I'd do as I please.

Those of us who always carry tip-up folders always clip the knife so that the spine of the blade is pressed firmly against the seam of the pocket. No matter how heavy the blade is, it is physically prevented from opening. Once you develop the habit of clipping it this way, you don't even have to think about it.

Thats the way I always carry. If I carried on the left side it would be a differant story.
