I was checking out these machines for sale on line and it is puzzles me as to why the used ones are going for about as much as the news ones. There are a couple of used machines on EvilBay for $1400 and you can get a new one from Tandy for $1495 before any "club" discounts. I have heard rumor that the old machines were better, but that much better?

It's been a while since I sold my old one. (It was number 3 and the very first one out of the shop after R&D) The body was cast iron or similar and I understand the new ones are Aluminum. I have seen both and would prefer the old heavier body if I were going to get one today. I did get all my money back when I sold the old one, but it was more like $1100 then.

This is why I only considered the Boss for a week or two before making the decision to buy a Cobra machine. There are few bargins to be found on the used Boss market. It's not that much more money to step up to a motorized leather sewing machine
