I purchased blue anodized titanium hardware for my ZT560 and wanted to see if anyone has tips / suggestions for how to install it without scratching the screw slots / heads?

Also, is there any need for blue loctite when installing the new screws, etc?

Thanks.

To avoid scratching the screws you need to put something between the screw and the driver so that you don't have metal against metal. A piece of masking tape can often work, including on torx screws. You can either wrap the tape around the driver tip, or place a piece of tape sticky-side up over the screw and push it down into the screw head with the driver. Various material can be used as a barrier between the driver and the screw, it just needs to be thin enough to still allow the driver into the screw, durable enough not to tear when tightening the screw with the driver, and soft enough not to scratch the anodizing.

Some people might say "Don't worry about scratching the screws. It's just a knife. Who cares if the screws get a little scratched". But I understand that people want their belongings to look the way that THEY want them to look, and there's certainly nothing wrong with that. It only makes sense that someone who would buy anodized titanium screws to customize their knife might want to keep them looking new.

As for the loctite, if the screws are inclined to work themselves loose from operating the knife then it might be a good idea to use some.

Thanks, I like the suggestion to place a piece of tape on the screw driver...I'm thinking that electrical or duct tape would work well. I know that they'll eventually get a bit scuffed up but I'd prefer that the wear come from use over time and not from installing them. :)
