Tips for sharpening a Bushcraft?

I am looking for some tips to sharpen my bushcraft. I picked the knife up at the SFO about a month ago and it has not seen any use.
It did however have some black spots on the blade so I used some Mothers Mag and Aluminum polish to clean it up. The cleaning went fine but now the edge is quite dull.

Is it best to use the sharpmaker at 15 degree's or put a micro-edge at 20?
Suggestions?

Thanks
Bill

SharpMaker at 15° per side will put a microbevel on it. The BushcraftUK is a scandi zero grind, meaning the edge bevel and the primary grind are the same thing. Lay the bevel flat on the stone to sharpen it. The nice, even grind marks go away and you get a 20° included edge angle. or you can use the SharpMaker to put on a microbevel of 30° or 40° included and have a more durable edge that is not as sharp.

Thanks yablanowitz ...
I will give it a go using the flats in the base on the SM tomorrow.

Be prepared to spend some time at it. The bevel is very wide, so you have to take off a lot of steel to gain anything. I generally use a DMT Coarse diamond hone for mine. Another thing I've found the hard way is it works better to keep the blade perpendicular to the long axis of the stone and sharpen the tip by lifting the handle straight up as you get to the curve rather than trying to sweep the tip forward to follow the curve. I usually keep the tips of my left fingers on top of the blade on the bevel to hold the bevel flat on the stone. That just reads weird, but once you lay the blade on the stone it is easy to see what I mean.

Thanks again .. I think I understand your instructions.
I also found a decent video which helped to demonstrate what you are saying.
I was able to spend about 1/2hr on it this afternoon. I used 800 grit wet/dry sandpaper and just took my time.
The blade is shaving sharp now. I plan on stropping a bit to bring it up some more.

Again.
Thanks for the info.
