The gentleman who suggested these tips advised me not to advertise from whence they came. In keeping wish his wishes I will keep his identity out of the public eye.

Hi Bill,

you might suggest Belgian Blue.It is used on shotgun BBLS.,where hot blue would melt the solder joining the bbls. You will get scabbard wear with any of the blue,or brown finishes, but this is the most durable, can be home done and won`t melt the glue.

And,

Hi Bill,

you may wish to pass this on.After not wiping blade after use,a once loose scabbard became tight with debris.I filled it with Thompson`s Water Seal,it works for the deck, sloshed it around ,and dumped it.It came out clean.I saddle soaped the leather in the mouth, and have seen no ill effects in a month.
What ever happened to the X-Mas kardas that you were going to send?
The Kiwi problem stemmed from spit shining, which clogged the pores of the leather, and made it crack.Brush shining is fine.
