Tips on making a habuki?

I'm working on my first Japanese style blade, and was wondering if anyone had any tips or how tos for making the habuki. I was thinking about using a piece of copper pipe and forming it on to the blade then cutting off the extra and brazing it closed. But if there’s a simpler way I'd like to know (because my brazing/soldering leave much to be desired).

You could cast it. probably alot more work than soldering.
