Just sold a small pocket knife and need to ship it in it's box. Any tips on who to use? ( ups, fedex ground? USPS?)

I have a few more to sell and was looking for a good source of small boxes too.

any suggestions?

Thanks!

UPS is great to work with and they have a wide variety of box sizes. I try to avoid using anyone else when shipping or recieving knives.

USPS Priority ships fast and the box is included in the cost; most PO branches will have some lying around to grab, or you can wait in line and ask for the right size. The typical size box for a knife is what's commonly referred to as a VHS box, as it'll hold a video tape with enough stuff to protect it.

Do not use padded mailers or bubblewrap envelopes.

As for USPS vs. Fed Ex vs. UPS. vs. DHL, honestly, all are a gamble to some small degree. If you look in GB&U you'll find that none of them are without fault. Instances of somebody who used shipper X, lost the knife, and vows to only use shipper Z from that time on, and vice versa. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if tallied, they all came out pretty even.

I prefer to send USPS Priority with Delivery Confirmation.

Also, read this thread.

That is the size box that I prefer to use. I also like others to use that VHS size box when shipping to me.
You have to remember, not everyone has a big mailbox. These should fit in most.
