Let's get a thread going with some tips and tricks for the Busse users among us.

For the large choppers, here's a neat trick that some of you may not have seen. I do not claim credit for it as I saw it on one of the forums a couple of years back. Instead of using a lanyard through the rear talon hole, try using one through the front handle hole as shown in the first pic. Get some trusty 550 paracord in your favorite color, cut it to 27 inches long (this length works well with gloves too) or so, melt the tips, tie it through the hole with a double overhand knot and cinch up tightly. Insert your hand through the lanyard and twist it around your wrist a couple of times. The more you twist, the tighter it will hold the knife to your hand. Makes for a much more secure hold and may keep you from impaling your calf muscle with your Battle Mistress or HOGFSH some day!:D

Great Tip! That is exactly how I use a lanyard on my knife. I borrowed the idea from the competition cutters. I believe Warren Osborne was one of the first to adopt this lanyard method in competition.
