Tired of pishing e-mails?

I've received less than fifty pieces of spam in the last 5 years, and I have never once received a phishing email. It's all in how you use and abuse your address, and who you're getting it from.

But anyway, to hijack your thread a little bit, I would like to offer a sobering thought:

They wouldn't keep sending email spam if it didn't work on some people.

I get an average of three a day. They must think that I fit a profile.

And yes, someone must be falling for these scams -- and the "Nigerian" scams (Got one yesterday that said they would "compenserate" me for my time - to the tune of $3,000,000.)

You know at my home address I never, well rarely get that crap. However at my Gmail account I get it regularly, although their spambots catch the vast majority.

While certainly not an expert I wonder if there are well known providers and not so well known providers...

My ISP catches most of mine. My old ISP caught them all and I never had any spam or phishing crap. I use outlook and have used the "Organize" option enough now to have one full page of addresses that never see my Inbox anymore. :D
I do however go to my ISP mailbox and report all the spam once in a while. Anything over 30 days gets deleted but not reported and I have found legitimate folks that I get email from in there occasionally, haven't figured that out yet.:o :(

Tom - Ha! The Nigerians offered me $6.5M

Oh yah. Well . . . . Well . . . .

But was it compenseration? Bet it wasn't. You would have had to pay tax.

And besides, they called me "Mr. Thomas."

So there!
