What are some good mountain trails or hikes near New York City? only know Bear Mountain but there must be more. Thanks

Take the Metro North, Hudson Line to Manitou station (only stops there four times a day, twice in the morning going north and twice in the evening heading back into the city) and hike the Appalachian trail up to Anthony's nose

you can go this way but it's more scenic to head up South Mountain Pass Road and start on the Appalachian trail where it intersects the road:

the area is a great place for an overnighter
