Glued up four knives today...

Forged three more...

Heat-treated twelve...

All this between teaching two classes (one in the AM; one, PM) at the local comm. college.


Can I go to bed now? :(
 
I take it you don't have to worry about boredom much these days. :p

Get some sleep by all means. Trying to work while really tired is like trying to work when drunk in some ways.

Man what a day.:thumbup: Did you dream about knives all night. I find that when I work on a blade or a sheath I wind up dreaming about it all night long. Its good and bad too. Sometimes it makes for restless sleep, but sometimes I've come up with good ideas. Big fan here Dan.
 
No....didn't dream about knives...but did lay in bed this morning for about 10-15 minutes trying to figure out how the heck I'm gonna get this stuff done today...

I'll be on a plan for Napa tomorrow.....!
 
Where have you been Bandit? Seems like its been a while.
 
Dan, when you wake up again, tell me what you are doing in the picture in your post avatar? I've stared at it, but can't figure it out.

I've slept a total of about four hours the last couple of night from lying awake planning how to put some handles on some blades and make sheathes for them. You'd think I'd have more important things on my mind at 4 AM.

I don't know how the guys like Dan do it.

I haven't been here very long... but I do browse every day, so I will be lurking even though I may not post much.

I'm grinding a bar of steel. I'll post in another thread why I took that pic (tomorrow, perhaps).




Let's see....so far today...finish-ground four blades...glued-up four more...fine-sanded the blades and handles of those (plus two more)...then made sheaths for all six...

but, not time to go to bed just yet...

...going to try to glue-up three more...and then fine-sand the handles on six others...


Tommorow will be etching & sharpening.

Good luck at the show Dan. I've already told the Mrs I'll be attending the one here in Atlanta. Can't wait to meet you and see your work.
