It's starts in Nepal with Dasein. This shuts down production for two weeks. Many of the kamis like KNN who go to their village for the holiday are late getting back. Too much partying. Then just a week or two after Dasein comes Tihar. We're shut down again for about a week. Then comes Thanksgiving here and we lose about five days or so. Then Christmas and New Years.

So if this time of year things don't go as they usually do now you know why.

I don't begrudge anybody their fun and I don't want to sound like Scrooge, either, but I'll sure be glad when January gets here.

So I guess this means that my Salayan won't be ready any time soon!;)

That's ok, I have many bill's to pay and gifts to buy for the holiday!

Uncle, yet another partying for yourself will not make things worse... hope you be relaxed and enjoy the "wrong" days as much as possible, with your family and friends.

The only thing I like about the holidays is the food.;)

Of course the Winter Soltice will be coming soon and before we know it Spring will once again be in the air.:)
Winter can't be over too soon for me, however it doesn't seem like the middle of November here in Oklahoma.
It's been beautiful here with no need of a furnace during the day nor an air conditioner.
And the humidity has been tolerable as well. Not much more I could ask for weather wise.
If it keeps on being like this in the winter here it won't be long until all the Okies that immigrated to Kalifornia and Arizona will be heading back. :p :D

Hang on, Bro. As all know I was raised in that part of the country and know all the tricks Mother Nature likes to play there. This could be the calm before the storm. Shirtsleeves the week before Thanksgiving and then fighting a foot of snow on Thanksgiving Day!

My old man always said, "Oklahoma is fine for women and cats, But it's Hell for dogs and men."

One of the few things I ever half way agreed with him on.;)

The last few years has been pretty mild for here. Yea, we get a little snow once in a while, but nothing near like what I used to have to walk to school in, 10 miles and uphill both ways!!!;)
And if ya had a cold biscuit for lunch you were dayumed lucky. :D

BISCUIT! BISCUIT! Hell we DREAMED of biscuits! all we had to eat were handfuls of cold gravel with some bug-filled rainwater that had run off the privy roof:D ;)

Sorry, I don't take meds, but it appears I need to:D

With the right kind of bugs and a little boiling that rainwater could be turned into some very good soup.

Just make sure the Flies are dead when you serve the soup. I just can't stand it when the flies are still moving. :D

I still like them better fried.

Now that, I've never tried. How do you prepair them? :):):)

Heber, there is the one culinary use for the Kagas Katne. Use the tip to remove the wings (so they won't stick to the skillet) and saute lightly in olive oil with twenty crushed cloves of garlic. Otherwise, they taste just like fried flies. Just before they become crisp, stir in two cans of Mighty Dog, and feed them to the neighbor's cat. Wait until after dark, so the neighbor doesn't find out why her cat barks and buzzzes :D
