Okay. I was also dazzled by the shiny bronze, the titanium block, the Elmax. Wait. Did I say Elmax? It was a Chanukah gift, and therefore received a couple weeks ahead of time. I had asked the seller to check function and looks, so I figured it will be okay. I opened it and was again dazzled. Then I went to try it out. What''s this? Can't cut? Must be how I'm holding it or something. Try a different material. The blade is as dull as s%*#!!! I read that Elmax if not heated right can do this. But Lion Steel? Well, surely it's returnable. I checked the policies of the dealer I bought it from, KnifeArts. 3 days? You must be kidding! No one does 3 days unless they know they are passing off junk! This cost $385.00. Pretty expensive junk, if you ask me. Desperate, I tried everything in my book to sharpen it, including a diamond rod. No luck. Now, I have to ask a professional grinder to resharpen it, costing even more money! I will NEVER buy another knife from Lion Steel, who should have caught this in QC, or LionArts, who should have a reasonable return policy. Of course, I will never take a chance on Elmax again. I'm not a novice; I've collected since 2001 or so. I feel alternately embarrassed, angry, and, above all sad to be ripped off like this. I'm not asking advice. I got my advice. I'm providing this as a caveat emptor for whatever it's worth. All that glitters is not gold.
