Titanium ATR

I just bought myself a titanium ATR (plain-edge, of course) for Christmas. Very sweet... This thing is surprisingly thin and light for such a solid knife. I was pleasantly surprised with the integral compression lock as well. The only other compression I had come across was on a Salsa (not titanium), so I guess it was nested? I hated the Salsa, but the ATR is an entirely different beast. It's got strength and quality written all over it. I should have bought one before now, instead of a Military. Now, maybe I should give the Ti Salsa a try...

I expect that whether or not you will like the Ti Salsa would depend on why you didn't like the first salsa you tried.

I have one, it is one of my favorite Spydies - although I have to admit I have a lot of favorite Spydies. :D

The aluminum Salsa looked and felt cheap to me and, as I said above, I hated the nested lock. However, I think the Ti version would be much higher quality.

I need another Ti ATR....sold mine 2 years ago:(

I wonder if the SS one is as good

Jedi please listen to me. Go ahead and spend the extra nickels and get the Titanium ATR. You will be sorry if you get the stainless one. Especially if you compare the 2 side by side. It's not very often that I talk down a Spyder but the difference between the stainless and Titanium ATR is truly "day & night". Plus with the Ti version being discontinued you have some investment aspect to it. Think about that one. Ask other Spyder-heads beside myself. you'll be happy you did. JD

yeah i think the Ti is a lot better than the SS too, have had a couple of each, i would prefer the SS ATR over a lot of other poular spydies though, i love the ergos on it, but the good one is the Ti, my fav spyderco by far. shame they disco'd it, it is a heckuva knife imho, right now its my fav production knife, did i say i liked it lol??

I like this thing better than anything since the Lum tanto. Glad I got one before they all disappeared.

i have had a lum & really prefer the ATR myself though the lum aint bad either.

Jedi I like my SS ATR and I like it just fine, but I have not had the pleasure of experiencing the Ti that the others Rave about.
