Folks,
Last weekend was a small one-day knife show in Hartford, CT. I kept coming back to check out this very unusual piece by a maker who hails from Windsor, CT.
Gerry Jean is a machinist and crafted this unusual piece from an 1820 'Billings & Spencer' toolmaker's design. I couldn't put it down, and just thought how unusual it was. It's almost a click-out box cutter, but much nicer. All the detents work smoothly. There is a spring that pushes up on the blade from inside the frame. It's tight in all positions. Titanium frame with a 440C blade. The engraving and 23k gold is by Frank Conroy and is very well done. I think he sold it to me for the cost of the engraving alone! Anyway I offer you a look.
