titanium finish on Lum Tanto

I have a Spyderco Lum Seki City Titanium Tanto that I absolutely love. The titanium has gotten scratched up over times so I took a manicure tool and buffed out the titanium. It looks great but I did take off the patina and a little of the bead blast finish. It isn't shiny but it is not as gray as it was. The finish feels no different. Did I hurt the knife from a collectors standpoint?

The moment you used the knife any collector value went down. The 2nd hit to value was with the "manicure tool". You cannot really use a collectors item and expect whatever value it may have to be the same as one that is untouched. Right?
Also, I don't think Titanium gets a patina the way we understand it on a knife blade. It get's dirty and any acidity or alkalinity in your hands will make it change color to a very minor extent.

Thanks, I knew that it would be worth much more unused and boxed but it has been my edc. I have read lately that these knives are becoming quite sought after. I just wanted to clean it up and after the fact wondered if buffing out the titanium was the right thing. I will likely never get rid of the knife but I do not want to hurt its value whatever it is. I am probably going to retire it and carry my Tenacious or G3 Endura. I know the Lum is used but it is still a gorgeous knife. Thanks for your feedback.

whatever you did to the finish is reversible just have it sand blasted again.

I'm sure it hurt the value, but who cares? From the sounds of it, you made it look better!
