Hi guys, I just bought my first Kershaw, and it's a Leek TiZDP. When I hold this in my hand, I love it very much, nice fit and finish, light and compact. Now that's the problem since the finish is nice, I'm afraid that if I hook up my keys onto it I'm afraid it will get pretty scratched up in no time, unlike all my other spyderco and benchmade. Anyone can tell me how scratch resistance of the Ti finish is? Thanx alot guys :p

Don't hook keys onto it. Just clip the knife into your pocket. I personally clip my knives into the smaller pocket that sits right above the right pocket found on some/most jeans. Regarding the Ti handle, im not sure how scratch resistant it is, but i wouldnt test it just to be on the safe side=)

I also have a Ti/ZDP leek and it is my edc knife. Both sides of the handle have lots of scrathes and I just keep it clipped in my pocket. The clip side has also turned blueish from my jeans. Its a everyday use knife for me though so it doesnt matter that its scratches and blemished, i dont plan on selling it.

That's one of the things I like most about my Mini Cyclone in the TiZDP. After a month or so of carrying it, it has a well worn look...kinda like it's been there forever.

A few scratches and blemishes just make the knife look like you use it, which I hope you do!

Just for some info, that is called the coin pocket.

And yes, to the original poster, no keys...just clip it in your pocket.

Hi LowTEC, glad to hear about you giving us a try.

Gotta love Ti, but keeping it scratch free is all but impossible. I have quite a few Spydie C46's with Ti scales, and they scar up pretty quick. Kind of a flaw that Ti has if you are looking to really use and carry the piece.

What BM's and Spy. do you have with Ti scales that are not scratching up?

Thanx for all the information guys. No I don't own any other Ti handle knife and I'm still debating if I will use it or shelf it haha, nice fit and finish and all unlike my just came in Caly Jr ZDP :grumpy::thumbdn:

Anyone know what material the clip(ZDP MiniCyclone) is made of?
Will the clip wear out and not clip on to your pocket as hard after a while?
Cause I have a Surefire L2, and they said they use best materials avaliable to make it, but after using it for less than a month, the clip wouldn't hold on to my pocket anymore, It'll just slip out when I sit down.

Not sure what the clip is made of, some kind of hard stuff, maybe steel.

However,

just from the look and feel of it I have a lot of confidence in the clip.

Definitely not flimsy as some clips are.
