I put together this video for my customers who purchased the Ti Firesteel and Tindertube. Thought I'd share it here in W&SS as some of you might be interested.

James.

When I was a little kid - I was an Altar Boy (no jokes please) and we used to use wicks in long tubes. We had to be VERY careful because when we snuffed those lighting wicks in the tube to not allow it to stick inside the tube. (The cooling wax would allow it to stick inside the tube when cold) The Jute Wick and Tube - when you extinquish it - have you seen it stick inside the tube? Have you found this to be much of a problem?

Also, you mention it is soaked in Parrifin - but did you ever try Bees Wax - if so - what did you find?

Also, are you machining this tube from bar stock or tube stock - and how thick are the walls of the Brass tube?

A very nice system - and the leather I have been seeing you make is TOP NOTCH!.

Thanks,

TF

Hey TF,

I tried several fuel mediums before settling on paraffin. Using the paraffin there is no stickiness to the inside of the tube, however when I tried bees wax and another blend I did experience that sticking issue. IMO paraffin works best for this application. The titanium tube has a wall thickness of 1/16" of an inch, allowing it to remain strong yet cool quickly. The grooves are for grip and extra cooling surface area.

Thanks,

James

Can i get more of the twine if I run out? How much do these run? Sorry if I missed something, you can email me the info if needed. Thanks!
