Titanium Flipper or a set of fixed blades - what to do?

Hi folks,
I just unexpectedly came into a (very) small bundle of money, and haven't purchased a knife for a while.
I was at a shop recently and got the handle a ZT 0801. Sweet! They wanted $300 for it, but I've seen it online for (much) less.

I've also been jonesing for a set of "camp kitchen" Beckers - the 5, 15, and an 11.

Either way, the initial cash outlay for me is within a few bucks of each other.

I was going to post this in the Becker forums, but I know what the Beckerheads will say. (Still, ya'll 're welcome to chime in.)
Same goes for the KAI folks.

Still don't know what I want to do.
What would you do?
One sweet titanium Elmax flipper folder I can carry every day but will keep stone stock?
Or
3 awesome 1095 camp kitchen Beckers I'll use a few times a year, but probably have a bunch of fun modding?

Let 'er rip...

get the beckers i would say, because hopefully the zt's will start popping up on the market a little cheaper.

if i were you...i would go with the one i could carry more often...
i am sure you have other fixed blades :)

The 0801 is pretty sweet, why not just wait until you can pick one up online at the regular price (IIRC, I paid $192).

I actually saw it for a bit less than that last week, but they've recently sold out. $192 puts it within spitting distance of all 3 Beckers combined. Hence, my dilemma.
I'll probably get all 4 at some point. Isn't that the way this works?

Thanks for the advice, guys.
0801 is definitely on my list, but maybe in the spring.
I went an entirely different way.
Since I have a McGizmo SunDrop and Vagnino P-38, with a Ti Alpha Pen on the way (some day), I picked up a Titanium watch in the same price range as the ZT.
Very happy. I'll have an all-Ti "dress" EDC when the pen arrives.

Do you have some titanium shades as part of that titanium edc? I like titanium myself, and still have an ancient pair of Oakley titanium E-Wires. Even though these have not been produced since sometime in the early 90's, there is still a company that buys and sells such shades, at auctions and from private individuals. They still list these shades for sale from time-to-time, but are pricey considering they are vintage. They get around $325.00 for them these days, believe I paid in the mid $200's in the 90's.

I have bought from them, they are very reputable.

I know your not going to pay $325.00 for a pair of shades. ;-)
Just thought I'd mention them due to the titanium fix.

Actually, I wear glasses and usually get Transitions lenses, so my glasses are my shades. The price you gave is not out of the range when I get new frames every couple years.
I tried Nitinol once, and wasn't impressed. But it was brand new, and it's not the same thing.
I've gone Armani a couple times, and currently have Oakley "Shovel." It seems like I have had one set of Ti frames, but I'll have to dig through the leftovers box to confirm.
Titanium frames will definitely be on my radar next summer when I replace 'em.

Thanks for the link!

I need to wear vision help as well. Almost all the time I wear contact lens, as I need thick lens due to being near sighted. Hate that. Been wearing contact lens since I was a teen and love the better vision and peripheral vision they afford, plus being able to wear nice shades. I do have a pair of glasses that are Transitions though. Mostly for puttering around the home and such. Once I go out the door, it's contacts for me.

43 years old, and I still freak out when I touch my eyes.
Glasses for me!

I say buy the zt as you have the money right now. The beckers you can buy piecemeal down the road.
