I have a spyderco southard that i want to last forever because its an awsome knife and its also getting customized. But I hear from a bunch of different people that the titanium on the framlock will eventually start to wear away slowly from using. Causing blade play. Has anyone had this happen to them? And if you have, how long or how much using did it actually take for the titanium to start wearing down?

It would have to wear down a ridiculous amount before it caused blade play. As it wears it should move further over on its own, which should keep blade play from developing. I understand you wanting it to 'last forever' but honestly I don't believe it's a legitimate worry to have. It should last a very, very, very long time. Just enjoy it and take care of it and I'm sure it will serve you well.

Its not a frame lock, but it took my Emerson Mini Commander 7 years to get a very small amount of vertical blade play. Good thing is though, Emerson's warranty will fix it for free when I send it in. I'm sure Spyderco would do the same.

The lockface on the Southard is heat treated.

Use it without worrying knowing that if something ever did happen Spyderco will be there to stand behind it's products.

A well designed and constructed framelock will last a very long time. The reports of extreme wear and problems are about the multitude of crap ti framelocks out there.

Enormousness amounts of time, money, engineering and testing go into any knife from a reputable company.Enjoy your Southard. :)
