Hello all -- I have looked through your forums many times over the years, but just registered and this is my first post, so please bear with me. I have no idea if this is in the right place or not, so I apologize in advance. My question is - does anyone out there know of a decent titanium (preferred) or stainless steel framelock folder that also has a wave opening feature? The only one I can find is the Emerson HD7 which are so hard to come by. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Welcome! I'll move this to the General forum.

Welcome.
Just a quick FYi, Emerson knives are not considered traditional. Think old school pocket knives. Anyhoo, the reason the HD7 is so hard to come by is because they are no longer in production, and it's been quite a while since they have been produced.

The best I think I can suggest is to buy the Emerson knife you want, amd have it converted by a knifemaker/pimper to a framelock design.

While it is not explicitly stated, the DPx HEST's bottle opener also works as a wave feature, although not as good as the real thing. Unfortunately the only other one I can think of is the Emerson CQC 12 which I believe is also out of production.

I have the DPX Hest folder and it is an awesome workhorse of a knife, but I have not once been able to actually make it wave open.... Oh well. I love my Strider so much, just was hoping someone might know of some obscure knife maker who made something similar with a wave. Thanks a lot for the responses.

you could also look to find a frame lock with an opening hole and do the old ziptie mod. perhaps sage 2, lion spy. having a brain fart as to other frame lock spydies

Edit: forgot to mention you could do this on a strider through the opening hole as well...

I believe that was done by Nath, I think his full username is Nathawut. He's off in Thailand and does framelock conversions on Emersons.

As mentioned you could do the zip tie mod to several Spyderco's, select Emersons(like the one above with the thumb hole), and Striders.
Ti Frame Lock Spydies off the top of my head:
Sage 2
Leafstorm
Chokwe
Techno
Tuff
Ti Military
Lionspy

Or you could always buy the Ti Frame Lock of your choice, and I'm sure someone here on the forums(Charlie Mike comes to mind) could add a wave for you.

The bottle opener on the HEST folder works quite well as a wave for me.
The rest of the knife ain't bad at all, either

The Lionsteel made HEST is probably the nicest option currently in production, since it has a stabilizer/rotoblock.

I can wave mod pretty much anything.
