I am turning 30 this year and want to get myself a more upscale knife for my birthday. Currently my EDC rotation us a Kershaw Leek 1660TGRYST (S30V), a Kershaw Skyline, and Spyderco UKPK. I have been looking at the Spyderco Sage 2 and the Quartermaster QSE-5. I am leaning towards the QSE only because it is made in the USA, but I love the look of the Sage 2 as well.

Do you guys have any recommendations for any other EDC knives with Titanium handles under $200?

Preference:
- Made in USA
- Not Tanto
- 3 inch blade +/- 1/2 inch (I live in California)

Deal breaker:
- I don't want 8CR13MOV (just my personal preference based on my experience with knives using this steel)
- No automatics or balisongs

Your blade length relative to California (unless you live in LA) isn't an issue. The laws here a very lax regarding knives. I carry 3"-4" blades on a regular basis. Look at the lineup from ZT. They offer a lot of great folders in a Ti frame that fit your specs.

I just picked up a used Kershaw Leek Ti-ZDP frame-lock. These were The Shnizzle a few years ago, and as you are familiar with it's size, and like it, it may be worth looking for this up-grade. Something a bit bigger is the ZT-0550. Definitely a work horse, and as they have been discontinued, will become short on supply soon.

Yeah, I couldn't believe it when I saw one for sale. I used to have one, but traded it, at a loss, and had regretted it ever since. Now, I'm happy again. ($153 - shipped  )

On topic. The Spyderco Southard is sometimes available for less than $200, and used for even less. It's another great knife that is very well respected, while not being too huge.

With Ti scale, under $200, my favorite is still the ZT801. Love everything about it. Not assisted, but so smooth it fires just as fast.
