I have a Strider SJ-75 love it.
The Ti side is too shiny, any ideas how I can reduce glare, short of messing it up?
This knife is NOT discrete sticking out of your pocket.

i have a question in reverse. the look and feel of a new sandblasted titanium millie handle is great but with constant carry, the slabs start to look dull and feel smoother than the old. what's a simple home remedy to bring back the new feel? NB: i'm not a craftsman. i haven't even tried dismantling a screw-on knife because i might mess up the action.

A sandblast, or a stonewash would probably reduce glare. Or if the titanium's heat treated, some colors might be less obtrusive, but it's still pretty flashy. I don't know about sandblasted handles, but Flitz seems to be great for polishing metal.

You can either sand blast it it yourself, or have it done. It wouldn't be hard for me. I sandblast knife stuff frequently.

The texture of the media is significant. New sand makes a big difference.

Spyderco might do it.

I didn't want to drastically change the overall look of the knife. So after some testing on old titanium:
An aluminum oxide blast gives you a mediun gray look as the Sebenza looks......too drastic!
A flame treatment gives you a nice bronze look..........not bad, but still glossy.
A sand blast is too aggressive.
I used 80 grit glass beads, they didn't "take out" the Striations as sand would have. Basically, it knocked off the gloss/glair, gave it a dull very light gray look. perfect! If you held two knives together, you would see the diff, but alone not.

On this subject, does anodized Ti tend to wear well, or does the color start to rub off on the edges (pulling the knife in and out of pants)? I mean like blue anodized scales.
