A local shop has a near mint titanium handle 221 numbered 440 steel plain blade knife without box. I have always admired this particular knife and never been in the right place at the right time to get one. My question is they want $375 for it, anyone have an opinion on current value of this? Thanks slider

Asking for a value of a knife is against the rules, be it for sale or purchase, unless you are a gold or higher paid member.

It pays to be a member. The gold is not expensive and it allows you to ask those type of questions, sell, and will give you private messaging. Give it to yourself as a holiday present, It will pay for itself on questions such as this.

Knives are worth what people will pay for them.

For a knife that's sat in a store with that price tag for 20 years I'd say the price is too high.

My apologies, didn't realize what i was asking was against forum rules. I have been visiting the forum here and there for a few years, plan on becoming a member one of these days after the holidays. I suppose the price is a little high but since i have not found another titanium one i my take the leap. Thank you all for your time. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.

I'm with the people here on not providing values. I will say, as a Spyderco collector, that I wouldn't but that Herbst.

Do a search, there were production and quality problems with the Ti Spyderco Herbst. I'd leave on the table if you plan to use it; collector value is limited w/o a box. Being numbered isn't a big deal for most.
