OK so ive been tryin to figure out how some makers put that rough, super hard edge coating on thier titanium blades? I have seen it especially on Warren Thomas' knives, I have emailed him asking about the process and he replied stating that it was all proprietary even though I have seen it elswhere. Im wondering if anyone has any idea how its done? Thanks again guys!

Rocklin will be at the Blade Show this year. The machine they use for blade coating can use a Tungsten carbide electrode for steel knives and a Titanium carbide electrode for Titanium blades. The Tungsten carbide deposited on the blade has an HRC hardness of 72.

They will be at Blade again this year, George Lambert will be doing demonstrations, he is a good man, has done a lot of research and experimenting on his own and freely shares his knowledge and methods.

So the next question is..... Does anyone offer the service of doing these coatings? it seems like they could make some awesome utility type blades.

I believe George Lambert is doing some of that now You can find him on the internet at Titan Knives I believe, will check later if that does not work for you.
