Titanium leaf spring

Yeah, 6/4 is pretty much the standard (there are a few better alloys, but not for the price). How do I get the spring part to stay bent out of the plane of the rest of the titanium slab, so that it catches the tang of the blade? Do I just bend it a lot, and let it spring back (but it will have been deformed, so it won't go all the way back), or what? Also, while I'm at it, how is the little ball-bearing held in (I can think of several ways, but why re-invent the wheel)?

--thanks,
JB

For 1/16 ball use a 1.5mm ( #53) drill, drill the liner-lock material to proper depth so the full diameter of the detent ball will lie just below the surface, place the ball on the hole then drive it home.
