Looking for you guys opinions.:D

I have been seeing liner lock folders made with a large range of titanium liner thicknesses. All the way down to .032".

My question is, what do you consider the thinnest a set of liners should be on a knife with a blade of 2.5" to 3.5"?

My personal opinion is to not go below .050 thickness Ti on my knives. Just wondering how stiff a .032 lock could be.

I use .040 on my small to med folders and .050 on my larger folders. I have used thiner on very small folders. To make a stiff lock with thin liner, cut the lock shorter than is normal, say around 1''

Thanks, Don.

I wasn't sure if it would be safe to use such a thin lock. Makes sense for the shorter lock to remain stiffer and resist buckling, more than a longer lock.

I'm using .040 on my Passmores right now.

Hey Jeff,

Looks good man! I like the mokume with the pearl. Nice job.

I just finished up a small damascus folder with pearl for my daughter. I guess I'll have to learn how to post pics here. I used .050 on it.

Man, I like that tapper, it really gives a lot of feel when doing the really small screws.
