I'm thinking of picking up a titanium Lum Chinese. I misplaced my Endura3 about a year ago, and I haven't seen it since. The Lum Chinese appeals to me because it has a VG-10 blade like the E3, with the added benefit of being flat ground.

I haven't seen that many threads on the titanium Lum. What do you guys think of this knife? Anyone make it a user, or are most of them stuck in safes somewhere?

Thanks for any help.

Never held one but I think it's a looker. Would love to own a Lum-Chi of some variation one day

Of course, you can't go wrong with the Lum...

but if you want an FFG VG-10 Spydie and come from an Endura 3, how about an FFG Endura 4?:

Well, most likely you already discovered that one by yourself :)

But it IS a great knife, I have 3 of them:

I was never much of a fan of titanium until I got a Titanium Lum. Now I wish they'd always been that way. Steel is still a better lock material, but I am liking titanium over aluminum (or steel) for metal scales. Here is the Ti next to foliage almite Al. My only complaint about the Ti Lum, if you want to call it that, is that the steel liner lock isn't nested. I realize however that milling the titanium for a nested lock would have co$t and that the average buyer these days seems to prefer full liners to nested ones anyways.

I have a ZDP Lum Chinese, and it's one of my favorite knives to carry and use. Definitely top 3 absolute favorite Spydercos. It carries extremely well due to being so light and thin, plus the blade shape is extremely versatile for most any task. I also like how smooth and perfect it looks both open and closed. Fits great in my hand, you'll be amazed at how much blade they fit into that handle.

Also, the lock bar on the titanium Lum Chinese is still steel. Only the handle scales are ti.

I got a Carbon Fiber Lum recently and like it alot. Have a large Lum on preorder. A little grippier material for the handle or a finger choil like the Caly would be the only thing that could improve it in my book. I'd like a Ti Lum also but don't have one yet. Those flatground Enduras and Delicas are the bomb also. Nothing slices like a flatground.

Just traded mine. Loved the looks of the knife. But holding it in hand I always felt that the ergonomics were encouraging slipping up towards the blade. Not that this ever happened. But I didn't like holding it. In that sense it is very similar to the Chokwe. Although that knife is too gorgeous for me to ever get rid of.

^ +1

my endura4 (FFG zdp) is my favorite knife for EDC, but i've never held a lum Ti before.

Also. Although it's quite structurally sound. It's not going to break under heavy stress, probably a bit stronger than the Endura. The ergos don't lend itself well to hard use. no jimping or natural way to stop your hande from coming onto the blade. So combine that with a TI handle that provides little grip (a bit more than the stainless ones) it's not great for hard use or sweaty hands or defensive encounters.
But if you plan on using it more for lighter tasks which it will excel at, great belly nice blade shape, and you like the looks go for it.
Also, Spyderco Liner Locks are amazing. If you haven't tried one yet you should
